Halloween Food
Since Halloween is right around the corner, I wanted to share some different ideas for food you can have at your Halloween gatherings!
Monster Eyes Cupcakes
You can either buy cupcakes with just plain white icing, or you can make cupcakes and just use white icing to decorate them. I used mini Oreos and separated them. I place them Oreo side down (cream side up) on the cupcakes. Then I placed mini M&Ms on each one.
Pumpkin Faced Veggie Platter
You will need to buy 2-3 orange bell peppers (orange is required). Clean each one and remove the stem and top. Using a knife, very carefully cut a jack-o-lantern face in each one. Since there are holes in them, I did not use them for dip like you sometimes see. Instead, I put other veggies in them. I also placed veggies around them on a tray. I think these are my favorites of all the ideas!
Spinach Dip Coffin
You need to buy a solid loaf of Italian bread. Cut the center out, but be sure and keep the "top". Fill the center with your spinach dip [although any creamy dip will probably work]. Place chips or crackers around the bread. Add the top to the side of the dip to make it appear to be a coffin. For an added creepy touch, place a plastic skeleton inside of the dip!
Candy Popcorn
I have written about candy popcorn before, but this one is slightly different. Pop your popcorn. Purchase green [or any creepy/fun color] baking chips. Melt them and add them to the popcorn. Be sure and remove any kernels before adding the melted chips. Let cool.
Pizza Rollups
This one doesn't really tie into the Halloween theme, but it is a really simple recipe and easy food to add to all the snacks above. First lay out some crescent rolls. Add pizza sauce to one end along with some cheese and any other filling. Roll the crescent roll up, and bake following the instructions on the can. We poured some of the pizza sauce in a cup for dipping.
