Disney Monorail Countdown
On our February 2017 trip to Disney World, I wanted a cute countdown that wasn't too involved. I had just returned from a trip to Disney World with my mom. Therefore, the countdown would need to be fairly short. Since Melody was so young, she really wouldn't be involved in this countdown. So I came up with just an easy countdown that begin 12 days out from our trip. I used the monorail as inspiration and Pinterest too! See below.
I used the Silhouette Cameo machine that Brad gave me for Christmas to design some things to cut out. I drew pillars to represent each day until the trip. I then drew simple rectangles to connect each of the pillars. Both of those objects were cut from white card stock. I drew a monorail too. The monorail itself was cut from white card stock. I cut the windows and line down the side from adhesive vinyl that was pink and black. Lastly, I drew a castle with Mickey as the doors. I cut this from pink card stock.
First I attached the rectangles to the wall using double sided tape. I was sure to connect them so that when assembled, they were level and straight.
Next up were the pillars. I attached them where each rectangle met. I had to be careful with numbers like 10 or 9. They had inner circles that would need to be attached too.
I attached the castle at the very end of the countdown.
I preassembled the monorail prior to attaching it to the wall. Since the vinyl already contained adhesive, this was easy. Each day, I moved the middle of the monorail to line up with the day we were on.
