Quick and Easy Cheese Dip
Not long ago, we had hamburgers for dinner, and Brad wanted the shoe string french fries. I am not a huge fan of those, so I decided to come up with another side for me. We had some chips laying around, so I googled until I found an easy cheese dip recipe. I actually cut this recipe in half, and it was still too much. Mine wasn't as runny as theirs, but that was ok. Check out how I made it below!
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 1/2 a cup of milk (I used 2%)
- A few handfuls of shredded cheese (about a cup or so)
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of chili powder
Instructions
1. Mix the butter and flour in a pot. Heat and whisk until bubbly
2. Whisk the milk into the flour/butter mixture and bring to a simmer. Make sure it is thick enough to coat a spoon or whisk
3. Remove the pot from the heat and mix in the cheese with a spoon until smooth and melted
4. Add the salt and chili power and mix. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary
5. Serve!
