Yak and Yeti

Yak and Yeti

Yak and Yeti is an Asia restaurant found at Animal Kingdom. Mom and I recently gave it a try on our trip in September. I have been wanting to eat here for a while, but it seems like we are never at Animal Kingdom long enough for a table service restaurant. But this trip, I was sure to make the time.

We arrived around 15 minutes early and checked in immediately. We were seated within about 5 minutes. The restaurant is much larger on the inside than it appears on the outside. I didn’t really get any pictures of the restaurant itself though. We were seated at a 4 person table, and they brought Melody a booster seat. She wasn’t super great at dinner, but we managed with our phones and a few snacks.

Below is the menu from our trip. The lighting wasn’t amazing, FYI.

I was really torn between the lettuce cups and the crispy honey chicken. I thought about getting both, but mom couldn’t decide either, so we each picked one and split it. I also ordered Melody french fries. They aren’t on the menu, but the waiter said they have them. Apparently they don’t like to put them on the menu since they aren’t healthy.

The crispy honey chicken was great. There wasn’t excessive amount of sauce, but there was enough to cover the vegetables and the chicken. It had a great flavor and even the rice was really great. I actually used some of the hoisin sauce from the lettuce cups on the rice. It was delicious. I would order them again without question.

The lettuce cups were also really great. I am not sure they would have made an entire meal for me. Especially since there wasn’t any rice to go with it. I obviously didn’t expect any since it was an appetizer, but if I ever ordered this as a meal I would add a side of rice for sure.

The fries were ok. They had a lot of seasoning and Melody didn’t care for them.
