Mickey Mouse Character Banner
My best friend Emily did a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed birthday party for her daughter Lydia who just turned 2. It was a very adorable party, and she did a really great job without going too overboard which could have easily been done. It's not as easy of a theme as one might think. There are so many different things you can do and directions you can go. One of the things she wanted was a banner with all of the characters "headgear" on it. I was able to make it for her using my Silhouette Cameo.
- She had a file that contained the items she wanted cut. So I transferred it to my software and sized it so that it would fit across her mantel and kitchen entrance.
- Mickey was easy and was cut out of black cardstock.
- Daisy was also very easy. It was a simple bow cut from purple cardstock.
- Minnie had a very similar bow, but we wanted to somehow incorporate the polka dots. I cut the bow out of white cardstock first. Then I used the pink cardstock and cut the bow out of it along with the circles to looks like polka dots. Then I used double sided tape to attach the pink bow on top the white one.
- We used green cardstock to cut out a bone to represent Pluto's collar. Then I attached a yellow tag to it. I also cut out an outline in white cardstock to have the bone and tag attached to.
- The Goofy hat also wasn't too bad. The hat itself was cut from green cardstock, then I cut a black line and attached it with double sided tape.
- Donald's hat was similar to Pluto. I first cut out an outline using white cardstock. Then we used a lighter blue for his hat. Then a darker blue for the other pieces.
It turned out super cute for the party!
