Brickhouse Brunch

Brickhouse Brunch

For Mother's Day this year, we went to Brickhouse for brunch.  It has recently became one of our new favorite local restaurants.  The food is good; the prices are reasonable; and our regular waiter Tyler is great.  Brunch is a fairly new offering, but it did not disappoint.

Here is their menu for brunch.  It is only offered Saturday and Sunday from 11 until 2.  If brunch isn't your think, you can still order from their regular menu during brunch hours too.

I started off with a $1 mimosa which was much better than their regular cocktails that I have tried in the evening.

Brad ordered the Brickhouse Breakfast Skillet.  He loved it.  My only complaint was that it truly did come in a hot skillet.  And while this is great for the person eating it who wants their food to remain hot throughout their meal...our two year old was interested in the hot handle ha!

I kept it fairly simple because I didn't want anything sweet, and I ordered the Brickhouse T.D. Platter.  I ordered my eggs over easy and added cheese to them.  Everything about my meal was perfect except the way I ordered my eggs.  You can never tell how someone interprets over easy vs over medium.  I want some runny yolks, but I want the white all cooked.  Unfortunately the whites were not all cooked.  That wasn't their fault, and I still ate it, but it's a note for next time.  The bacon was cooked perfectly. It was crisp and really tasty.  Ironically my favorite thing was the toast.  It wasn't super crunchy or burnt, and it was nicely buttered.  It was so great that I ate part of Brad's too!

One neat thing is that you get a free kids meal with each adult entree.  So we opted to get Melody the French Toast with a side of french fries.  She loves their french fries.  She wasn't so much of a fan with their French Toast.  Brad liked it, and I liked the fruit on it, ha!

Our waiter accidentally made an extra fruit and yogurt parfait, so he decided to give it to us.  If I had it prior to getting my meal, I may have devoured it.  It was delicious!

Overall we will definitely be back for their brunch.  Everything we had was really good, and we may even try some of their other items on our next visit.  It doesn't top our favorite brunch spot, Grille 29, but it is a nice alternative if you want something less expensive and more laid back.
