Baked Onion Rings
For the Super Bowl earlier this year, I made these baked onion rings. They were super delicious but must be eaten immediately. I didn't care from them leftover or even as the game progressed to continue to eat them. However, if you are entertaining a crowd, these won't last long. They are much easier to make then frying onion rings. Or at least I think so. I could not make them look super pretty either, but the taste is truly what matters! Also, I didn't use almond flour; instead I used regular all purpose flour.
Ingredients
- 1 onion sliced into rings
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
Instructions
1. Mix all of the spices and flour together in a large mixing bowl. Pour some of the mixture into a small bowl.
2. Beat the egg in a small bowl and set next to the spice bowl.
3. Dip the onion ring in the egg then into the spice mixture.
4. Place the covered onion rings onto a baking sheet covered in parchment paper. Continue until complete.
5. Bake at 425 for 10 minutes, flip, then another 10 minutes. I also broiled them for about 2 minutes to help make them crispier.
6. Serve!
