The Blue Plate

The Blue Plate

Before going to Chattanooga, I did some research of a few restaurants near our hotel and the convention center.  One of those restaurants was The Blue Plate.  The menu looked very intriguing, and it was only two blocks from our hotel.  After our first full day of JoeCon, we decided to go here for dinner.

We left our hotel around 5:15 and arrived within about 5 minutes or so.  The entrance was slightly confusing.  We went in what we thought was the entrance but it was the bar.  They directed us through another door that took us to the actual restaurants.  We were immediately seated at a fun semi-circle booth.  This was perfect for Melody who won't sit in a highchair these days!

You can find their menu on their website, but below were their specials and what they had on tap that evening.

We ordered drinks immediately, and I ordered an blue plate lemonade with strawberry vodka.  I just ordered it by the glass instead of the pitcher.  It was delicious!

While waiting on our food, Melody played on her tablet.  And we could watch our food being cooked in the open kitchen!

For Melody, we ordered just fries, and she ate peanut butter crackers.  The fries were delicious.  Definitely some of the best I have ever had!

Brad ordered French toast with link sausage, and thankfully they had sugar free syrup.  Brad really enjoyed it.  He said it had really great flavor to it, and the sugar free syrup was really good too.

I ordered the breakfast burrito and had them leave out the bacon.  It came with homemade chips too.  The burrito was amazing.  I am usually not a huge fan of breakfast burritos, but I think what really made it was the fresh flour tortilla.  The chips were pretty good, but I would ask if I could get fries next time.  The fries were MUCH better.

I spoke with the waitress, and they make everything in house.  I think that is why all of their food was so great.  And the prices are really reasonable.  With tip, our dinner was only $43 and that included alcohol!  I really wanted to visit again on our trip, but we never had the chance.  But if we ever go to downtown Chattanooga again, it is a requirement to eat here!
