The first restaurant we visited while at the beach this summer was a new one, Shunk Gulley. Brad’s parents suggested it because they had eaten there before. It was easy to get to (it’s also on 30A), it provides a lot to do before and after (although we didn’t really explore on this trip), and it’s really kid friendly. We ate here our very first night, so we were all tired and just unpacked. There were also 9 of us, but surprisingly we were seated almost immediately which is amazing for a Saturday night!

One of our favorite things here was the open area for the kids to run. After being in the car for upwards of 7 hours, the kids did NOT want to just sit. So we had a great seat downstairs and outside. All of the tables here are either outside or inside but with the windows open. You get a better breeze outside, and it was ideal for the kids anyhow. There were a lot of games to play too. This also is a good waiting area if you do have to wait on your table to be ready.

Now onto the food! The menu can be found below.

I ordered the watermelon margarita to drink, and boy was it tiny. Even the beers came in really small glasses. For the price you pay, you would hope for a bit larger of a cup, but I guess that’s part of being at the beach, ha. The drink itself was really good and refreshing.

Melody had milk and crackers.

For my entree, I went basic and got the fried shrimp basket. It was delicious and plenty of food. And their tartar sauce was terrific.

Brad ordered the grilled shrimp skewers, and they were honestly the best. I wished I would have gotten those myself.

Overall the food was great, the location was ideal, and the atmosphere was perfect for the kids. This will definitely be a restaurant we add to our 30A rotation!
