Beaches and Cream Revisited

Beaches and Cream Revisited

Mom and I first visited Beaches and Cream back in 2018. The food was ok, but the ice cream was delicious. Brad really wanted to try it, so I was able to snag a reservation for our trip back in February. I also snagged one for mom and I when we went in March. We tried a few new things this time around, so I wanted to share about those.

So to start off with, we pondered how the dining plan would work here well before our trip began. It was between here and Via Napoli when it came to using our last table service credit in February. We ended up picking Beaches and Cream just because it made more sense with desserts and such. Well Brad really wanted to try the ice cream soda. Our thought was this would surely be considered a beverage on the dining plan. Well that was not the case. The beverages below (alcohol and floats too) are considered a beverage on the dining plan. This was disappointing, but there was nothing we could do about it. So Brad opted for simply a coke and would get the ice cream soda later.

I ordered the orange creamsicle. I could not taste any alcohol in it, which is a good thing to me. It truly did taste like an orange creamsicle. It was also very messy, ha! I am not sure I would order this out of pocket, but it was definitely a good use of a beverage on the dining plan here.

I ordered the tuna salad sandwich for dinner along with the cheese and bacon fries (without the bacon). I added onion to my sandwich, but I expected it to the chopped up like it is on the fries. The sandwich was so messy, I had to use a fork and knife to eat it too!

So in March, mom and I paid out of pocket. We opted to split the tuna and cheese and bacon fries (again, no bacon). You can see what that looks like below. They literally did split everything in half for us which was really great. I thought for sure we would be doing it ourselves. It is also a LOT of food. It felt like way more than half for each of us.

So Brad did end up trying the ice cream soda for dessert. It was good, but I think it would have preferred to use the credit on ice cream itself looking back. He did say he would order this again though. I could see him getting this instead of a coke when paying out of pocket in the future.

I have written about the mud slide before, but I had to just share another picture from our trip in February. OMG yummy!

In March, we paid for a sundae for Melody. It is a scoop of ice cream with a cherry, two Oreos, and two chocolate chips. Not sure it is worth $5-$6, but that night it was because Melody did not want to share and it wasn’t worth the argument. I mean it is really cute, right?!?

And finally in March, I was able to try the No Way Jose. I have heard so many great things about this, but Brad hates peanut butter. So it was a no go in February. But mom was willing to try it, and it was amazing. I loved the peanut butter on it. I would definitely order this over the mud slide if I have a choice in the future!

Oh and here is the current to-go menu!

This is a super small restaurant, and if you want to eat here, I HIGHLY recommend getting a reservation. We usually can get one at 180 days out and a day or two out, but we have trouble in between.
