Extra Bedroom Revamp

Extra Bedroom Revamp

So to continue on with our quarantine projects, we decided to do a slight makeover with our guest bedroom. In the next year or two, it will look even more different, but for now this is it.

So below is what the room looked like before. We did not have any curtains up. The curtain rod was left there from the previous owners. We still had that builders beige paint color. And the furniture was in a slightly different space. Even two months ago we had a TV in there before donating the stand to a friend. The bedding also was a bit darker with more primary colors.

We decided to paint the room a dark green like our dining room. We really love the color, but it will not work in all of our rooms due to how dark it is. However, this room gets A LOT of sunlight, so we found it to be perfect.

And because of the sunlight, we added curtains. Personally, I am not a huge fan of curtains. But our in laws complain about the bright light in that room in the mornings. So I found some blackout white curtains. I really wanted white in order to keep it light in there.

We also rearranged the room some by switching the dresser and the cube storage. And we also included Melody’s rocker from her room. She is over being rocked, but we hated to get rid of it.

We decided to shift the bed closer to the window leaving a much larger space when you walk in. And we also removed the primary colored bedding and replaced it with white bedding.

Overtime we intend to move the furniture from our master bedroom to the guest bedroom. This includes a nightstand with a dresser and mirror combo. But this will likely be a few years down the road. Instead we plan to add a gold framed mirror in the near future, and maybe frame some prints to place throughout the room.
