Pensacola 2020
So in February back before the quarantine, Melody and I went to Pensacola with my parents for a few days. My mom had to work at a few stores, and Brad happened to be out of town. So we left on Tuesday after Melody finished dance class and drove down and spent through Friday morning.
We arrived around 6 to the most beautiful sky.
My mom was still working, so we headed into the hotel and Melody dug straight into her toys. It was game time for her and grandpa. [You can see a picture of our overall room below too].
Since we had been in the car all day, we decided to walk over to Crabs on the Beach for dinner when mom finished work. It was a great restaurant and we had no wait. I loved being able to just walk from our hotel (we stayed at the Hampton Inn).
Melody decided to sleep with Nana and Grandpa our first night.
The next morning, we decided to drive around and see Pensacola. It was my first time there. We drove down to Navarre Beach then headed back. We ate lunch at Wendy’s near a play place we read about. Melody wanted to play at a park, but it was a little cold. So we went to The Bounce House and let Melody play for a few hours. After a few hours, we headed back to the room to kill time before going to dinner at Red Fish, Blue Fish.
Our last full day started out with my teenager having breakfast with me, ha. I mean seriously she looks 16 here! Anyhow, it was a gorgeous day but still fairly cold. So we watched the view from our room for a bit before heading to another indoor playground. It was called Pensacola Play Zone and was a lot of fun for Melody. After she finished playing we headed to foosackly’s for lunch and Sonic for dessert.
Mom’s store was fairly close to our hotel so she came by and we went walking on the beach. Melody refused to walk on the beach because she wanted to go in the pool instead. So this mom went and changed into her swimsuit and go in the heated pool in the 50 degree weather. We swam for about 30 minutes before getting out to the freezing cold and heading back to the room to warm up and pack up. We had dinner at Flounder’s Chowder House across the street.
It was a short and fun getaway especially with Brad being out of town. It is always hard to keep her by myself 24/7 for weeks at a time when he travels. So these trips help break it up. We loved the hotel and area, and I hope to get to visit again when it is warmer!
