Pensacola Play Zone
While in Pensacola back in February, it was pretty cold. While it did get in the 50s and was sunny, the wind didn’t make you warm for sure! So we researched indoor play places to take Melody during the day while my mom worked. One place we found was called Pensacola Play Place. Based on pictures online, it reminded me a lot of Let’s Play, so we gave it a try!
Similar to Bounce House, the cost was around $11 per child. You were allowed to bring in your own food as well. We saw a lot of people that brought in lunch for their kids to avoid leaving or buying something. They did have snacks you could buy. And he told me while we could not leave and come back, we could go to one of the places next door (it was in a strip mall area) to get food and come back. I am not sure if you had to show a receipt or what.
So while it is similar to Let’s Play, it is MUCH, MUCH smaller. I mean the pictures below are literally all that there is. There are two major play areas. One is enclosed by a fence type contraption. This is the main play area for older kids. There were slides, ball bits, and other toys.
There was another area targeted for toddlers. It was sectioned off by an interlocking play pen thing. It had tunnels and different younger toys.
There was a small area in the back with books, a rocker, and some small toys. I assume this is for parents with babies. You can kind of see it in the picture below.
As you can see in the pictures above, they had various seating options. My dad and I sat a table and chairs set up. They did have one bathroom that I noticed. Other than that, nothing fancy or out of the ordinary beyond the pictures above.
While it didn’t have as much to offer as Bounce House or Let’s Play, it is a nice alternative to a traditional playground, and it keeps you from the weather if it isn’t ideal. I would say it is about a 25 minute drive from where we stayed which wasn’t too bad.
