Whole Wheat Turkey Sausage Balls

I love sausage balls, but between the pork (I am allergic) and bisquick (not great with Noom) it isn’t the best option for me. But with some research and creativity I found a great alternative - whole wheat turkey sausage balls!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour

  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 pound uncooked turkey sausage

  • 8 ounces of grated fat free cheddar cheese

Instructions

1. Add flour, baking powder, salt and butter to a food processor and process until butter is incorporated. Add cheese and pulse 1-2 times. Gradually add sausage and pulse until well combined. In the future, I think I will do this in two batches just to make less of a mess, ha!

2. Roll into tablespoon size balls. Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes at 400.

3. Serve!
