Thanksgiving 2022
This year we were able to host Brad’s family for Thanksgiving. Between all of his traveling the last year, it was really nice to spend time at home with also with family. I love hosting events, so this was a lot of fun for me (along with a bit of work). So my brother-in-law, Jeff, and sister-in-law, Rebekah, and my three nieces all stayed at our house. Brad’s parents and grandparents opted to stay in a nearby hotel. We did have the space for everyone, but it was going to be hard on his grandparents getting up and down the stairs.
So all of the family arrived late Wednesday afternoon. We let the girls played, and we hung out together. I made chicken enchiladas for the group, and we just caught up. The girls enjoyed getting to be together for sure!
We woke up Thursday morning, and Brad’s mom came early to help us cook. The girls also enjoyed watching the parade. Then we had snacks as we cooked and set the tables.
I didn’t get many pictures of all of the food, but I did snap a picture of Brad using the carving knives as well as the main course. We ate on our fine china, and I was so happy we were able to all 8 fit at our dining room table. We sat the girls at Melody’s kid table. The tablecloth was one they could color on, so it gave them something to do earlier in the day.
After the big meal, we just hung out and let the girls play. Ole Miss/Mississippi State came on that evening, so we watched that while we had snacks and leftovers.
On Friday, we all went to the Space and Rocket Center for some last day fun. The girls all loved the rides and interactive things throughout. Jeff, Rebekah, and my nieces all left after lunch.
We did some shopping and then went back and hung out at the hotel until dinner time. Melody passed out on the bed, and she even slept through dinner. She was exhausted! Well we all were.
The rest of us went to brunch Saturday morning before everyone went back home. It was such a fun time with family!
