Halloween 2023
Halloween this year was a bit different since Brad was traveling for work and missed it. He did carve pumpkins right before leaving as well as going to the pumpkin patch with us. But this year Melody picked Princess Leia as her costume of choice making it extra hard not having her Star Wars loving daddy there.
Halloween season started with a happy as usual. Her gymnastics class was all decked out too. And as I mentioned above, Brad did carve pumpkins a few days before leaving.
I took Melody to her best friend, Lydia's, school for their trunk or treat. She decided to go a Leia to it. All the kids seemed to have a lot of fun.
Melody’s school hosted their annual pumpkin patch as well.
And we did a fall festival at our church. Melody opted to go as Princess Aurora.
Then Halloween happened. It was cold so we bundled up. Melody really enjoyed getting into character some. We literally walked almost our entire neighborhood for trick or treating. Melody ended up with SO much candy (as can be seen below). We did have some kids steal our candy bucket we put out. Luckily our new neighbor chased them down and at least got our bucket back. I mean who takes the bucket in addition to the candy?!?!
Overall we had a good Halloween. We were really bummed to not have Brad, but we made the best of it and even FaceTimed him some. Then we slept in since their school system scheduled an E-learning day on November 1st (so smart!).
