American Girl Birthday Party
Back in June, we visited the American Girl store in Franklin, TN to celebrate both Melody and my niece’s birthdays. Their birthdays are one year apart but two dates apart (May 25 vs May 27). So this was their birthday present from my mother in law. I recently wrote a post all about our hotel experience of this trip. Now I want to share the party part.
As part of their birthday presents, my MIL gave the girls gift cards to spend on whatever they wanted at the store. So we did a bit of browsing before our party time officially began. My MIL picked the WellieWisher theme. There are several themes to pick from. During our visit we were just one of two parties. And at our time the restaurant was only open for parties. As soon as we checked in, they seated us at a table and already had high chairs for the dolls along with some party hats, tiaras, and some party favors for the dolls and girls.
Below is the menu during our visit that you could order things from a la carte as well as their complimentary options.
After they took our drink order (we opted to not order any of the food options from the menu), they brought out games for the girls to play.
Once set up, they brought the girls over to the bar top where they had a mini salon set up. Each girl got to pick one doll for the hostess to fix their hair. The hair style was the same for each doll, but the girls did get to pick the ribbon colors. As she fixed up each doll, she also played games with the girls. They seemed to enjoy this part the most.
After the fun games and hairstyles, we got to have cake! The plates were adorable, and my MIL was able to take home the leftover cake.
Once we finished up, we headed out and let the girls finally make their purchases. The whole party experience lasted around 90 minutes. I am sure the more guests with dolls, the longer it may take. But I think it was the perfect length of time for the girls.
They were able to take home lots of favors. You can see them all below. The theme of your party likely dictates some of the favors you receive while some are likely the same. They received a crown (for themselves), activity book, game set, doll rain boots, cupcake, cup, plate, and shirt.
It was such a fun and cute party. It would be really hard for us to do that for Melody and her friends since it is a drive for us, but they also offer take home parties we might can look into. My MIL does plan to do this again for all of her granddaughters in a few years since one was still too young.
