La Cantina de San Angel Review
So for lunch on our last day, we decided to use a quick service credit. We were at Hollywood Studios that morning, so we were torn if we should just eat there, or go try something at Epcot. Well, we opted for Mexican at Epcot. Mexican was about the only type of food we had not tried since we were at Disney World. My mom had tried La Cantina de San Angel before, but I had not.
We got there around noon. The tables were already starting to fill up, so mom grabbed us a table while I waited in line to order our food. It took about 15 minutes from the time I got in line to the time I got my food. That wasn't too bad of a wait, but still pretty long for quick service.
I got the Tacos de Pollo, or chicken tacos. It came with Mexican Rice and Refried Black Beans. The tacos were topped with red salsa. It was a total of 3 tacos. That was way too many for me. I only finished about two tacos. Some of the chicken was a bit chewy, so I scrapped off any I didn't care for. The rice wasn't too great. It was basically just white rice. I added some salsa from the condiment stand for taste. The refried beans were decent. I am not a huge black bean fan, but they were still pretty good.
Mom got the nachos. They were delicious. To be honest, I wish I had gotten those. Mom and I actually swapped meals after about half way through each. I prefer soggy chips, so that was perfect for me! They only thing I would change about the nachos is the beef. It tasted more like chili. But overall, it was really good.
So a few bites into our meal, we started to get pretty cold. It was really windy outside, and the birds were quite annoying. We noticed that there was additional seating inside the table service Mexican restaurant. There were plenty of tables, so mom and I moved in there and got this nice view.
It would be ideal for dinner during Illuminations for sure! So now dessert. Mom and I both got the churros. They were actually really good. It was a nice break away from the ice cream and cakes we had for desserts the previous meals.
Overall, I am really glad I finally got to try this. My husband and I refuse to eat in Mexico. We had a really big fight at the Mexican pavilion a while back, and it still lives in infamy. But the food was actually really good, and it is a great use of a quick service credit. AND, if you aren't super starving or you are a light eater, it is an easy meal to split!
