Chicken Guy!

Chicken Guy!

My must try restaurant on our September 2018 trip was Chicken Guy! It opened back in August, and my parents were actually able to eat there on Grand Opening day. Mom liked it, and it looked great. So I really wanted to give it a shot.

Our first visit was our arrival day. There was a line outside, but it moved pretty quickly. It wasn’t unexpected with it being Saturday night though. While in line outside, they gave you menus so you could start looking at their selections. I mean deciding a sauce alone would take time! There are SO many.

While in line, mom went to find a table for all of us. Tables were fairly limited, and a lot of people were lingering after their meals. We hated to order and not have a table. I continued in line, and I finally got to wait in the line inside!

Ordering was quick and easy. And mom found a nice inside table in the corner. They gave us a pager to place on our table, and they brought us our food directly. On this visit, mom and I both ordered The Sauce Boss combos with our sauces on the side. And I ordered Melody the chicken tender kids meal. It was SO much food! [on a later visit the bun was burnt :(]

The sandwiches were great. The chicken by itself wasn’t amazing though. I did add sauce to my sandwich after the fact. I didn’t want two sauces on my sandwich, so I added what little I wanted myself. On a future visit I asked for one sauce not the sandwich and one on the side, but they still put them both on the side. But they have plastic utensils readily available, so it was easy to add myself.

And now the sauces! On our first visit we had 5 sauces between the three of us. We got two Garlic Parmesan sauces because mom knew she loved it. And it was by far my favorite sauce of the ones we tried. It was perfect for the sandwich and also great with the fries. I also got the special sauce. It was ok, but the mustard was very prominent. I would not order it again. My last selection was the Avocado Crema. It was lacking in flavor. It was very bland and all I could taste was the avocado. My mom also decided to try the chipotle ranch. It was pretty good, and I would order it if I was eating it with the loaded fries or even the fried pickle chips. But otherwise I wouldn’t order it just for regular fries or even the sandwich. The ranch portion was just ok. Not as good as I expected.

Melody really loved the fries here. She didn’t care for the chicken, but these days she won’t eat anyone’s chicken. We visited a total of three times during our week trip. It was really that great to me. And it was easy for us to get to from our hotel. There was one visit where they over seasoned the fries and Melody wouldn’t eat them. Next visit I will order hers without seasoning. I love having another really great quick service dining location at Disney Springs. I feel like that is one area they are lacking, so this is really nice.
