Back in October, we made a last minute decision to head to Disney World for Melody’s fall break. We had Hilton points, so that made the trip more appealing. We had enough to stay for free at DoubleTree at Disney Springs. It was the best deal out of all the Disney Springs Hilton hotels, and we did like the idea of having the separate bedroom and mini-kitchen.
I did not mention this when writing about our time at Epcot, but we ended the night with a semi-upset child because she didn’t spend her gift card money from her Nannie. See Nannie gave all the girls a gift card since it is so rare they all go to Disney World (at the same time that is). Melody had been so torn on what to get, and she never found anything she loved. We didn’t really have time to go to the Creations Shop in Epcot at the end of our night. And Disney Springs sounded miserable that late too. So we told Melody we would go to Disney Springs when the opened. So that we did.
When we went to Disney back in October, we stayed at Buena Vista Palace. BVP is located across the street from Disney Springs. Since we were there with my mom who was on a business trip, the location was ideal so that Melody and I could go grab food and shop easily. During our trip we ate at Wolfgang Puck Express twice. This used to be our go-to spot. But then Disney moved the buses on the other end. It wasn’t as convenient, and we started eating at Chicken Guy! more. So it was a nice treat to get the chance to eat here again. It was right near the walking bridge from the hotel. And the foods servings are usually plentiful.
When mom and I took Melody to Disney World back in October, we stayed at a new (to Melody and me) hotel. Melody and I would be spending a few days at the hotel alone during the day, so we picked this hotel because of the amenities. Mom had stayed there before, so she knew there would be plenty for us to do.
On our trip to Disney in August, we tried something different. We opted to stay off property, but at a Disney Springs hotel. The main reason for this was cost. We used Hilton points to pay for our room which dramatically reduced the cost of our trip.
My must try restaurant on our September 2018 trip was Chicken Guy! It opened back in August, and my parents were actually able to eat there on Grand Opening day. Mom liked it, and it looked great. So I really wanted to give it a shot.
On our February trip to Walt Disney World, we decided to try out D-Luxe Burger. We wanted to spend our first night at Disney Springs, and the food here looked really good. The reviews I read were also really positive. Brad loves a good burger, and I love good fries. So we thought this place would be perfect for us.
So Melody just had her first trip to Walt Disney World! You can read all about the planning here. There are so many pictures and details, I decided to break up my trip report into different "parts". Part One is our general visit to Orlando days one and two. On this trip, we wanted to spend time with Brad's grandparents who live in Orlando. So we opted to do that at the beginning of our journey.
