Teacher Gifts
Since this is Melody’s first year of preschool, it is also the first year I have to do teacher gifts. I went back and forth with a lot of options I found on Pinterest, but I ultimately decided to do something similar to the dance teacher gifts. Instead of mason jars, I opted for mason jar cups. Since it was a cup, I decided to do their first initial instead of something Christmas related. Lastly, I include a gift card to a local bakery.
My other dilemma was that at Melody’s preschool they have many teachers that help beyond the classroom. Some of which only help with things like Chapel, Music, etc. They don’t have actual students. I wanted to do something for those teachers too. At the bottom of this page is their gift. I opted to bake some of my white chocolate chip cookies and chocolate pretzels.
Since I was doing gift cards, I needed a way to give them the gift card with their present. I decided to make a gift tag that could hold the gift card but I could attach to the cup. I used my Silhouette Cameo to do this, but it can also be done without it.
First I cut out two sides of each tag using red cardstock on the Cameo. I wanted to put the words “JOY” on it, so I cut that out using white vinyl also using the Cameo. Using transfer tape, I was easily able to place it on the tag and keep it straight.
Next was assembling the the tags. I placed the gift card on the back side of the tag to get an idea of where to place the double sided tape. I placed it on each side and on the bottom. I left the top open so they could get the tag out. Then I attached the top.
Now that the tag is done, it was time to work on the cups. I was sure to remove the lids and windex the glass.
Using the Silhouette, I cut out the first initial of their names on red vinyl. Using transfer tape, I attached the red vinyl letter to the cup.
I think filled the cup up with green Hershey kisses. And I attached the lid.
To attach the gift tag, I bought some cord at Walmart.
I tied it around the lid and attached the gift tag.
And to make the gift exchange easier, I placed them in bags.
For all of the teachers at Melody’s preschool, I made the white chocolate chip cookies and chocolate pretzels. I bought some cute metal tins at Michael’s to put them in. I made one batch of the chocolate pretzels (about 70 pieces) and three dozen cookies. I sent them to Melody’s school the week before school was out to give the teachers plenty of time to snack on them. I also sent a nice thank you card for all that they do for her.
