Baby Boy Shower
My best friend, Emily, recently had a baby boy! It is the first boy for both sides of their family and for the both of us. As you may have noticed throughout my blog, we spend a lot of time with Emily and her daughter Lydia. Lydia and Melody are just two weeks apart in age, and I suspect over time, her new boy will end up just like a little brother to Melody too! I hosted a baby shower for her back in October. I plan to go into more details of the crafts I did for the shower in the future, but follow along today to read all about her shower in general.
It was so fun getting to decorate in blues! It is new to our family too because we have all girls. One thing that I knew for sure, I wanted a onesie banner over our fireplace. I bought some onesies that were not just your ordinary white ones, but they were boyish colors. Then I used my Silhouette Cameo to add some personalization to each of them.
For the food table, I found a baby blue tablecloth on clearance at Bed Bath and Beyond. It will also be perfect for spring and Easter. I made a diaper cake and kept it simple. I used various blue ribbons and a cute “Little Blue Truck” book as the topper. I used blue and yellow paper products. Decor was simple and included the invitation and a sign. I made blue onesie cookies, and we also had blue iced cupcakes. To finish up the food was Chex Mix, chips and dip, and Emily’s favorite cheese ball.
The other table in the dining room consisted of drinks, party favors, and a frame/mat for everyone to sign.
Emily took pictures with her daughter, mom, and mother-in-law. We both realized after she went home that we never got a picture of the two of us.
There were 7 kids total, and we had plenty of things for them to play with in both the playroom and downstairs. Everyone had a fun time, and Emily went home with a lot of needed gifts for Baby Dalton!
