February 2019 Disney Trip Report Day Five
We just returned from another trip to Disney World. Over the next seven days, I will be sharing our trip report day by day. You can find my planning post here. So let’s get started!
Our fifth day started at Magic Kingdom. We were super torn on how to start this day. We had a dining reservation for The Plaza Restaurant for breakfast at 8 am. But we would have to pay out of pocket for this, and we would have to find another time to spend a quick service credit. The more we looked at how our days were going, we decided to cancel The Plaza and we were able to book one at Be Our Guest for breakfast and use the quick service credit there.
Our reservation was for 8:30ish. We pre-ordered our food the day before. So we headed to the bus stop around 715. The bus took forever getting there, and I honestly thought we would be late. But it all worked out, and we took some cute pictures on the bus (Melody wanted to hold Brad’s hand, so cute).
Security was a breeze. However, literally as I was walking from the bus to security, a bird pooped on me (I would use another explicit word, but I am holding back). Like how does that happen on the lower part of my leg??? We didn’t have a lot of time, so I kept this on me until we got to BOG where I went to the restroom to wipe it off with water and a towel.
We stopped and took this basic photo. I tried to hide my dirty leg…
On our path to our reservation, we took some photos ourself.
The line for pre-order was super long. BUT, Brad did keep track of people, and he said we sat slightly before others in line that arrived when we did that did NOT preorder, so I guess there is that. It still took a while to get food, which was for the best since I spent a bit cleaning poop off my pants. And my poached egg was overcooked, but oh well! It was still delicious.
We finished up eating, then headed to Winnie the Pooh around 9:10 to ride it before the waits became too long. I don’t remember much about this ride, but Brad claims I have ridden it. I also met a nice family who was pretty new to the World. They had many questions about fastpasses and how they worked, where to eat, what to do, etc. Hopefully I was able to help them out in the 10 minutes we had together. I kind of wish I had their info so I could have reached out to them and see how their trip went!
After Winnie the Pooh, we had to stop at the Carousel. That was never on my plan to do. Melody hates the carousels we have ridden before. But she really wanted to ride it. And so we hopped in line. Cinderella’s evil stepsisters were riding the carousel before us. We were hoping to ride on the same one with them, but we were minutes too late. Then we did Peter Pan’s Flight (using our FP+), it’s a small world, Haunted Mansion (using our FP+), Mad Tea Party (twice), and Dumbo. Looking back, we should have used a FP we received from the DVC tour for Dumbo. The wait stated 15 minutes, we waited closer to 40. It was super, super frustrating and really messed with our plans. After that we attempted to do Barnstormer. We had just enough time using a FP. But Melody would not stand the EXACT way the castmember wanted, so she wouldn’t let her on. I get safety stuff, but she was clearly tall enough. She even stood, and walked under the heigh marker hitting her head on the post. So we just went on to lunch instead.
We ate lunch at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant. I did a small review in 2015, but I plan to review this experience soon. We did do the parade package, but unfortunately. we never made it to the parade.
After lunch, we headed back to Fantasyland. I wanted to ride The Little Mermaid ride. We were sure to stop by the infamous purple wall for a quick picture on the way. Then we attempted Barnstormer one more time. This time the lady didn’t argue and let us right through. We used a FP from the DVC Tour here. Melody loved the rollercoaster. She still talks about it today. But I am not sure she will want to ride it our next trip, ha. We will see though. I changed our afternoon FP from Jungle Cruise to the teacups, so we were able to ride it one more time. Then we hit up the long line for the PeopleMover and rode it twice. Then we ended our time at Magic Kingdom riding the Carousel of Progress.
We headed to the bus stop, and we didn’t have to wait at all. The bus was waiting on us. However, there were very little seats. Everyone placed themselves one seat apart where there were not two seats together. So we stood. Someone in a scooter offered us their seat and they would sit in the scooter, but I didn’t want them to do that. And honestly, it was best for Melody to stand so she didn’t sleep on the bus!
We went back to the room and let Melody take a nap. We joked because the previous night we were unable to ride Frozen Ever After because it went down so our FP+ was useless, and Brad wanted me to get one for tonight. But I thought no way would that happen. After trying for about 5 minutes, this bad boy appeared!
Tonight we planned to eat quick service in Epcot. It was between Mexican and Japanese. We opted for Mexican since the seating is outdoors. We figured it would be easier at night than during the day. We stumbled across this beauty on our way into the park.
We ate dinner, but Melody ended up sleeping through dinner because she refused her nap in the room. So she woke up as we headed to our FP at Frozen. I let her eat a quick bite before our FP was to expire. During the ride she turned right before the picture from fear, ha.
Then we walked back to our room. We stopped for some Joffrey’s coffee on the way. And the lines to get in were crazy.
We made it back with a few minutes to spare for Melody to play on the playground some. Then it was off to bed!
