February 2019 Disney Trip Report Day Six
We just returned from another trip to Disney World. Over the next seven days, I will be sharing our trip report day by day. You can find my planning post here. So let’s get started!
We started off our last full day having breakfast at The Garden Grill. It was fairly empty as usual so that was nice. The food hasn’t changed here which is great. This is our favorite breakfast spot. All of the food is great. Melody is still terrified of the character unfortunately. I thought for sure she might be better this trip because last trip she didn’t even cry, but that wasn’t the case at all. So we would just tell her to look away whenever they came near. I was able to snag a few pictures with them though!
After breakfast, we headed downstairs for Soarin’. We did rider swap (they now place the rider swap on your band instead of a paper ticket). Brad rode first then I rode after. We both took Melody on Living with the Land when it wasn’t our turn for Soarin’. She loved the “boat ride”.
When then headed over to Nemo for a bit.
Then as we promised her, we visited the play area set up for the Festival of the Arts. This was the same play area set up during the Food and Wine. I can only hope it stays around all year now. The structures look pretty permanent. It would also be nice if they installed lights and kept it open after dusk.
Then we headed back towards the World Showcase. We took a few photos along the way. And in Japan, we took the classic “my chid is napping” photo!
We ate lunch in Japan at Katsura Grill. Melody slept the entire time. She actually didn’t end up eating lunch until we got back to the room to rest. No nap today of course since she napped in her stroller. So we just cooled off and watched some TV.
Tonight was the night we were going to finally meet Snow White. We brought Melody’s Snow White dress from Halloween, so we let her wear it this evening (bringing her day clothes with her to change into before dinner). We arrived just in time to be second in line for the 4 pm visit. We did have to wait around 15 minutes, but we were ok with that. Melody played with her camera in the process.
Melody loved meeting Snow White (even though her face doesn’t really show it). She was so excited then got really nervous when she walked over, ha. After meeting her, we let Melody play with some bubbles while we walked around the World Showcase.
We stopped so Brad could meet some fun characters on our walk.
Then we took a random picture because Melody wanted to. And we found a bench in the shade in France and killed time until our dinner reservation. I had the Frose. And Melody played…and broke the iPad :(
We had dinner at Chefs de France. This is Brad’s always must do. I have always struggled to find something I loved here aside from the lobster bisque, but I finally did it. I had the grilled flat iron steak topped with lemon and parsley butter with pomme frites. Those fries were AMAZING. The steak was also cooked perfectly.
After dinner, we headed back to the front of the park to walk around some. We took a few pictures and got some coffee. Melody wanted her own dessert, pink ice cream. So we stopped at Ample Hills on the Boardwalk. Well she hated their pink ice cream. It was called Shirley Temple. It was basically a raspberry sherbet. Brad ate it. So I went to the Screen Door and bought her strawberry ice cream. She didn’t love it at first, but she eventually enjoyed it, ha!
