Wolfgang Puck Express
When we went to Disney back in October, we stayed at Buena Vista Palace. BVP is located across the street from Disney Springs. Since we were there with my mom who was on a business trip, the location was ideal so that Melody and I could go grab food and shop easily. During our trip we ate at Wolfgang Puck Express twice. This used to be our go-to spot. But then Disney moved the buses on the other end. It wasn’t as convenient, and we started eating at Chicken Guy! more. So it was a nice treat to get the chance to eat here again. It was right near the walking bridge from the hotel. And the foods servings are usually plentiful.
Melody and I ate here for lunch first. The crowds were low which was great for finding a good table. Drinks are refillable here. There are “waiters”. They bring your food to your table. On occasion they will refill your drinks. Some are better about this than others. Thankfully on this specific trip they were good about refilling my drink so I didn’t have to leave Melody alone or my food alone.
Anyhow, for lunch I ordered the cheese pizza. I had hoped Melody would eat some. She loves Domino’s thin crust cheese, so I hoped this would give her some familiarity. Unfortunately she wasn’t fooled. I mean it is dramatically better, but it is thin crust and cheese. She had peanut butter crackers instead. Now the pizza was great. I LOVE pizza. The crust was nice and thin. And a lot of crunch to it. It wasn’t soggy or super greasy. And the waitress also brought me fresh parmesan. It was probably one of the best pizzas on property honestly. I only finished half. I took the other half back to our hotel room for leftovers. So this is easily splittable. In the past Brad and I would get a salad and pizza and split both.
For dinner, my mom tagged along. Melody once again had her crackers, but I decided to try the cheese ravioli. The ravioli itself was really good. I loved all of the sauce. It allowed you to have plenty with each bite. I do however think it needed a salad or bread to go along with it. It just wasn’t as filling as the pizza.
My mom ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. The spaghetti itself was good. I liked that the sauce was thicker and really stuck to the noodles. However the meatballs were lacking. They were large, but there were only 2 of them. For the price paid, I would have expected more. Or they could have cut them and made them appear like more. My mom also thought bread would have gone better with the meal. We actually did ask the waiter for bread, he said he would get some, then he never returned. We also had to get our own refills.
Wolfgang Puck Express is really a great restaurant. I love that it feels fancy, but has cheaper prices. It is also great if you are on the dining plan. It is a longer walk if you are coming from the bus stops, but there are some great shops nearby you may want to go to anyhow. I find lunch to be the least crowded for sure. But we have really never had trouble getting a table even when it looked busy.
