For Brad’s birthday this year, Melody wanted us to do a G.I. Joe themed party. Now this party is just for the 3 of us, but I still go all out. I decided to make a G.I. Joe logo banner to hang between our sconces. It was not too hard using black, white, blue, and red cardstock. I found the font online for free, and simply recreated it!
Melody picked out a G.I.JOE themed birthday party for Brad. It is fairly hard to find old school GI Joe birthday party decorations. So I had to make it all. Today I want to share the birthday banner I made.
Melody’s 6th birthday was a Doc McStuffins themed party. Banners are always a focal point. I could not find any that were either reasonable priced or I loved. So I ended up making my own.
Like all of Melody’s birthday parties, I made her birthday banner for the Rainbow Ranger’s birthday party. I used the same cardstock that I used for her invitations, and I kept it in rainbow order just like she asked. The letters I kept in white.
For Melody’s 5th birthday, she wanted a Rainbow Ranger themed party. Well actually, about a month before she changed her mind to Doc McStuffins, but mommy had already bought Rainbow Rangers, so maybe Doc next year, ha. Anyhow, Rainbow Ranger itself was hard to find, but we did find lots of rainbow things we used along with toys we already had. Melody was specific and had to approve most things because she wanted everything to be in true rainbow order (aka ROYGBIV). The party itself turned out cute, and she loved it.
So this was a really cute banner I made for Emily’s youngest’s first birthday. It was a fishing themed party, and he is O-FISH-ally ONE! The saying was also mentioned on his birthday party invite. With the way we did the font, there was not a good way to add the dashes, but I still think with the spacing it was adorable. I used a bobber for the “o” in one, and she decorated the wall with blue balloons to go along with the theme. This is also where he ate his smash cake!
For Dalton’s first birthday, Emily did a fishing themed party. She had so much cardstock leftover from all of her past parties with Lydia, that we decided to use random colors and make silhouettes of the fish. Then she could use the silhouettes to make various banners throughout the house.
Like all parties, I made a banner for Melody’s Frozen birthday party. I used my Silhouette to make the banner and went a different route than usual. I opted for circles in a blue glitter cardstock for the background. Then I used a free Frozen font I found online and cut that using white glitter cardstock. I also included snowflakes on each side of Happy. I could not use regular glue for this project. It didn’t handle well to the glitter. Instead I used hot glue. It took some time, but it worked. For Melody’s 4th birthday party, she wanted it to be Elsa themed. Instead of only focusing on Elsa, I did focus on snowflakes, blue, and other Frozen things we could find. I had grand plans for this party, but then COVID-19 hit. She originally wanted to invite her entire preschool class. But then school was cancelled, and even if I wanted to, it would be near impossible to get in contact with all of them. We also had trouble determining a date that we felt comfortable even seeing family for a party. We opted to keep the party dramatically small and only had immediate family and her best friend there. And we did it the weekend after her birthday. We decided this about 2 weeks before, but since I had already did so much planning, and I only needed to make 4 invitations, that part was easy. Emily did a Paw Patrol themed birthday party for Lydia’s third birthday. I helped her out by making a few items using my Silhouette Cameo machine. One of which was a Happy Birthday banner. I used the Paw Patrol font for “Happy Birthday”. Then I made shields with the number 3 on each side. It was simple yet super cute!
For Melody’s third birthday, we had a Snow White themed party. As far as decor went, I played off the Snow White colors and apples. I also included lots of pictures of Melody dressed like Snow White. And I even added in some of her toys.

Melody's first birthday party was an ice cream themed party. I designed an ice cream cone in the Silhouette software then I used that as a staple throughout the party. One of the things I did was create banners using it. Check them out below.
When planning Melody's First Birthday Party, I almost forgot about having some sort of signage that actually said Happy Birthday! It finally hit me that I probably needed something somewhere. When planning out decor, I noticed that the wall above the cake was going to be empty aside from the lanterns I planned to hang and some balloons. So I decided to come up with something using my Silhouette Cameo.
