All in Vacations

Teppan Edo Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  Teppan Edo has turned into one of those restaurants I feel I need to eat at every time we go to Disney.  We first tried it back in September with friends.  Then when my mom and I returned in January, I had it again.  I don't really know why we love it so much.  I mean there isn't anything super Disney-esque about it, but it is really, really good hibachi and the service/experience is always great.  See below for my review and pictures!

Be Our Guest Dinner Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  When we originally started planning our trip, I did check for reservations for hard to get places at the 180 day mark.  Be Our Guest was already booked up for the date we thought we wanted.  It wasn't a huge deal to us, but it was a restaurant I wanted to try at some point for dinner.  Well about two months prior to our trip, I tried to check once a day or so to see if anything popped up as available.  Sure enough on April 6 it did.  The moment I saw it, I didn't question a thing, I just booked it.  I knew I could rearrange any of my Fastpasses or Touring Plans if needed much more easily than being picky about a time for dinner at Be Our Guest.  See below for my review and picutres!

Be Our Guest Breakfast Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  Be Our Guest breakfast was not originally part of our plan.  When Disney announced that they would start serving breakfast at Be Our Guest back in March, we decided we would definitely see if we could get reservations prior to park opening.  If so, we would try it.  If not, no heartburn about missing it.  I was able to get a reservation at 8:05 a.m.  I did keep an eye on park hours to make sure that the opening did not change to 8 a.m.  If it changed, we planned to cancel our reservation.  Luckily it did not.  See below for pictures and my review.

The Hollywood Brown Derby Review

As you may have read in a previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  We decided to try The Hollywood Brown Derby because we had heard good things from friends you had eaten there.  Originally I planned to book this with the Fantasmic package, but when we secured our dates, we decided that our Hollywood Studios day would only be a half day since we spent our first evening there.  We opted to try it at lunch mainly because it was less expensive.  This is also one of those two credit restaurants that we would not normally eat at if we were on the Disney Dining Plan.  See below for my review and pictures.

Le Cellier Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  For our actual anniversary, I knew we would be in the parks, so I wanted us to eat somewhere really nice.  We decided to eat at Epcot since there our countless nice restaurants throughout the World Showcase.  I decided we should try Le Cellier.  Brad loves a good steak, and I read that the steaks here are amazing.  Since we were not on the dining plan, I decided we should try as many 2 dining credit restaurants as possible.  This one did not disappoint.  See below for pictures and review!

Disney's California Grill Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  California Grill is a restaurant that we wanted to try two years ago while honeymooning at Disney.  We were staying at The Contemporary and we heard that was the place to eat.  Unfortunately our honeymoon was during their big refurbishment, so we were unable to eat there.  I made it my mission for us to eat there this trip.  That was the ONLY reservation I made at the 180 mark because I wanted to make sure we had this reservation at a decent time.

Disney's Jedi Mickey's Star Wars Dine at Hollywood and Vine Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  Since we were unable to be at Disney during Star Wars Weekends, I wanted Brad to experience something special that was Star Wars related.  We decided to try the Jedi Mickey's Star Wars Dine at Hollywood and Vine.  We hated to spend the money for the Star Wars breakfast, and it really didn't fit in our schedule.  We booked our dinner for our first night at Disney.  The cost for this buffet is $57.99 per adult and $34.99 per child.  You did get a PhotoPass card with a copy of your picture with Jedi Mickey on it.  See below for my review and pictures!

Disney World May 2015 Trip Report

As you may have read in my previous planning post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary.  Unfortunately, this is probably our last time visiting for a little while, so we tried to make the most of the time we had.  Hence all the planning that was involved.  I also wanted this trip to be semi-laid back.  We did not follow my touring plans at all.  Generally, I knew where I wanted us to be each time of day, and I kept track of our Fastpasses and dining reservations, but other than that, we made decisions on the go.  Below is a breakdown of each day of our trips.  Later this week, I plan to have reviews of both our hotel and our dining locations.  I will link those within this post as they are published, so be on the lookout for those!

Disney Nails

On our most recent trip to Disney World, I wanted to paint my nails in a Disney fashion. I found some different ideas from Pinterest, but I was unsuccessful in recreating them the same way. My mom and I improvised and below are the results!

May 2015 Disney Planning

Brad and I have just returned from Disney World.  This post is the first of many to come in regards to this trip.  I have discussed how I plan a Disney World trip in a previous post, but this particular post will breakdown all of the planning and costs regarding this particular trip.  I discuss all of the thoughts that I have when making each decision and how I come to my final one.  Look for my trip report and restaurant reviews in the next few weeks!

Honeymoon Ideas and Costs

It is wedding season so I thought I would do some research on potential honeymoon ideas and costs.  Honeymoon costs can vary greatly.  Today I research three different kinds of honeymoons.  With all three my budget was $3,500.  I used the honeymoon dates of 5/17/15 - 5/23/15.  The prices that I am quoting below were researched mid-February 2015.  There is a great chance that prices have changed slightly.  But this may give you an idea of some honeymoon options at a reasonable cost.

Trip Countdown Ideas

Whenever we take big vacations (primarily Disney trips), we tend to have some sort of "countdown".  We vary when we start this countdown, but it is always something fun.  Below are a few of our countdowns for trips.  Hopefully they can inspire you and your family!

Disney January 2015 Trip Report

In January 2015, my mom and I went on a trip to Disney World and a cruise. I have written a trip report in regards to our Disney World leg of our trip. It outlines the entire planning process as well as what all we were able to accomplish on our trip. Enjoy!

Half Moon Cay - Cabana Shore Excursion

Whenever my mom and I cruise, we try and make an effort to take a cruise that has a stop at Half Moon Cay.  Unfortunately this does not always work within our time frame or plans.  However, when we do get the opportunity to go to Half Moon Cay, we ALWAYS rent a small cabana.  The cabana rental is by far the one excursion we will always do and that we feel is worth every penny.

Cruise Planning

My mom and I go on a cruise at least once a year.  In the past 8 years, I have gone on over 10 or more cruises.  I have been on two cruise lines, went out of three ports, and completed a couple of different itineraries.  Today I am going to discuss my past cruises and some advice on how to book a cruise that is perfect for you.
