Boardwalk To Go

Boardwalk To Go

When we stayed at The Boardwalk back in February at Disney World, we decided to try Boardwalk To Go. We were arriving in the evening, and I didn’t want to make a dining reservation in fear of delays. Plus we knew we would likely be paying out of pocket for one quick service meal. So Boardwalk To Go was on the top of our list of places to eat at on this evening. We had a few others we had researched, but the food sounded best here. Plus all the reviews online said it was cash only. So this would be the only opportunity for us to eat here.

So we made it to the resort around 6:15. We went straight to our room to drop some of our carry ons off, then we headed to the Boardwalk. At this point it was around 6:45 pm. We were all hungry but not starving. So we walked up to Boardwalk To Go to look at their menu. I didn’t get a picture of it, and I really wished I would have. You can probably zoom in on the picture above to see it though. It isn’t quite what it shows online. And based on the menu, they do accept the dining plan.

So after reviewing the menu, I honestly didn’t find anything I really wanted. I wanted chicken tenders, but they had nuggets, and I don’t care for the traditional Disney nugget. But we still opted to eat here because the lines were crazy everywhere else. We didn’t think about it being the Super Bowl and it being super crowded.

We ordered, and Brad waited on the food while I went to go find a seat. I hated the seat we got, but it paid off because it started raining and we were under an awning.

So when we ordered, they told us their machines were not working for cards or MagicBands. So while I was prepared to pay in cash, it was frustrating because their menu lead me to believe I could use the dining plan. Then right before ordering, we went and got our Disney mugs and filled them. This was assuming we would get our food semi-quickly.

So we waited about 20 minutes, then they got our order wrong. Brad said it was fine, but they wanted to fix it. The problem is they only fixed Brad’s burger. Meaning everything else was cold because it took another 5 minutes for his burger. Then after we finally got our food, I had to go wait in another line for milk. Ugh it wasn’t a great start to our trip, but let’s look at the food.

Brad ordered the burger and fries. He enjoyed it, but it wasn’t anything spectacular. Of course I didn’t think to get a picture with the burger uncovered. The fries were soggy and cold from us waiting so long too.

I ordered the mozzarella sticks and a side of fries for Melody. The fries, again, would have been great had they been fresh. They were really soggy and cold. Honestly, we should have complained, but the line was SO SO long. The mozzarella sticks were just ordinary frozen mozzarella sticks. I guess I was hoping for something more unique, but these were far from it. They tasted fine, and the cold didn’t take way from them, but it was still disappointing.

So overall, I was super disappointed. I am not sure if it was because it was Super Bowl Sunday or what. But I was not impressed by the food. Even if it had been warm and fresh, I am not sure it would be worth the out of pocket cost when you are on the dining plan. I am not opposed to giving it another shot at some point in the future though. Just be prepared to wait and pay cash!
