Rise of the Resistance

Back in May when we visited Disney World, we were lucky enough to snag a boarding group for Rise of the Resistance. We went into the trip assuming we likely would not get to ride it, but we still booked a park reservation for one of our days for Hollywood Studios. We attempted to get it for 7 am. Read below about our experience. If you want to remain spoiler free, but you want to read about the boarding groups, you can read my post. I will keep the boarding group information at the top. Now as soon as you get beyond the boarding group screenshots, I cannot guarantee it will be spoiler free!

Blue Milk

As a surprise for Star Wars Day (aka May 4th), I wanted to make Brad some blue milk like at Walt Disney World. We loved the blue milk, not the green milk so much. I found a lot of different recipes online, but this was also in the middle of difficult times to find unique things during grocery pickup. So I improvised one of the recipes with what I could find. It isn’t perfect by any means, but it is fairly close enough for us!

Disney August 2019

So back in August, we made a 100% completely spur of the moment trip. Like we started discussing it a week before leaving. And we didn’t even decide we were officially going until the day before. Brad was getting the Disney itch, my annual pass was still good, and we had points to that would cover the costs of the hotel. We would literally only pay for food, gas, and Brad and Melody’s tickets. It was also Brad’s birthday. And what better way to spend your birthday than at Disney?? So we pulled the trigger and went!

Galaxy's Edge

So this isn’t like most of my Disney posts. Usually I post about my trip itself, then post about all the other big details. Well this couldn’t wait! Back in August, we made a spur of the moment decision to go to Disney for Brad’s birthday. We had no intention of going to Hollywood Studios, much-less Galaxy’s Edge. We were going to be in the parks August 29 and 30. I really didn’t want to even consider dealing with the crowds. Well late Thursday night, I read people were getting in the land without boarding passes. We decided to check after we did a few things in Epcot Friday morning. And sure enough, no boarding pass was required. So we headed over and literally walked right in without any issues. It really made Brad’s birthday getting to experience it on his actual birthday. I would definitely recommend devoting more than the 3 or so hours we spent there. I am sure we could spend a whole day just here! Well here are some pictures from our few hours and the few things we got to do!

Our Lego Collection

Prior to meeting my husband, I really didn't know much about the development of Legos today.  I remember the boxes of Legos as a kid that you just built what you wanted, but I was not exposed to the Lego sets like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Back to the Future, etc.  Then I met Brad.  He already had tons of Star Wars Legos.  Then I started becoming more and more involved.  It started small.  I would find a set on clearance at Walmart and purchase it.  Or I would find a small set on vacation.  Then what truly got me, the Disney Princess Line!  So below are some of our sets that we have already put together.  We have many, many boxes still to assemble, but this is a view into our completed sets right now!

Disney's Jedi Mickey's Star Wars Dine at Hollywood and Vine Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  Since we were unable to be at Disney during Star Wars Weekends, I wanted Brad to experience something special that was Star Wars related.  We decided to try the Jedi Mickey's Star Wars Dine at Hollywood and Vine.  We hated to spend the money for the Star Wars breakfast, and it really didn't fit in our schedule.  We booked our dinner for our first night at Disney.  The cost for this buffet is $57.99 per adult and $34.99 per child.  You did get a PhotoPass card with a copy of your picture with Jedi Mickey on it.  See below for my review and pictures!

Sandwich Cutters

A few years ago, I found some really neat Star Wars sandwich cutters, and I bought them for Brad for Christmas.  We are still on the look out for any cute sandwich cutters to use for his lunches.  We actually found some Disney ones at Walmart.  I don't do this for every lunch, but it is a nice surprise for him to get on occasion.  Below are the sandwich cutters we currently have and the outcome.  FYI-they can also be used as cookie cutters!

Star Wars Lego Themed Birthday Party

For my husband's 30th birthday, I wanted to do something special.  I decided to throw him a Star Wars Lego themed birthday party.  He loves Star Wars and Legos, and it was an easy theme to find party supplies for.  I primarily used yellow plastic table clothes ($1.00 a piece at Walmart) on all the counters and the cake table.  I purchased one white plastic table cloth for a Hoth scene we had setup from the Star Wars Legos.  Speaking of legos, since we have so many Star Wars Legos, we put them all together and used them as decoration surrounding the food and cake table as well.  An added bonus, Brad's mom brought me some pictures of Brad when he was a kid.  I displayed them throughout the house and used them as extra decorations.
