Teacher Gifts Ideas

I have a few teacher gift ideas that I used for both end of year gifts and now back to school gifts for her teachers. All of the products happen to be Simplified products. Some of them I wished I would have gotten myself before they sold out, but maybe during the fall launch!

Dance Teacher Gifts

For dance teacher gifts this year, I decided to go simple and cute. I saw this idea on Pinterest, and I recreated it. I made cute gift tags. I found a cute clipart online, then I added the phrase “Dancing Makes Life Sweeter” followed by “Thanks for a great year - Melody”. Then I attached it to a bag full of Starburst!

Easter Baskets 2021

I wanted to share with you some of the Easter baskets I made this year. I didn’t try and use another item for a basket like I have in years past. I went traditional yet practical. I am also sharing some Easter egg fillers at the end of the post!

Sweet Treats for Teachers

Very [VERY] last minute I decided to make Melody’s preschool teachers cookies for Valentine’s Day. I mean, literally the day before I was searching through party supplies for treat bags and making the labels and cookies. And while I only ended up with two cookies per teacher, it is the thought that counts.

Hugs and Kisses Valentine Exchange

I let Melody general decide what to do this year for her Valentine exchange at school. She originally wanted unicorns and rainbows, but I eventually convinced her to pick a candy. She opted for “chocolate candy hats” aka Hershey Kisses. I did some googling and opted to do Hugs and Kisses as the them.

Valentine Wreath

So I have this grapevine style wreath that I used a long time ago to make a spring wreath. While the wreath was really cute and we used it often, the flowers on were starting to look faded from being used and in the sun so long. So we took all the things off and just hung it in our garage with the other wreaths I have. Well I had this idea about a week or so ago to use it to make a Valentine’s wreath. While it is not my favorite wreath I have ever made, I think it turned out pretty cute for a last minute put-together craft!

2020 in review

I thought it might be fun to take a look back on last year through some pictures. Sure, it was one heck of a year, but we made the best of it. We spent a LOT of time together as a family, and we did come out with a lot of great memories, even if they were not the memories we expected to make! Follow along below!

Candy Cane Place Cards

We recently celebrated Christmas with Emily, Justin, and their little ones last weekend. I hosted this year, and I wanted to make it fancy-ish. We decided to do breakfast for dinner (which was fun and different), and I made his place setting as cute as I could without getting out the fine china plates and silverware (I did use our fine china glasses). Well I also decided to make some cute and easy place card holders. They are super easy and cheap too!

Christmas Tree Ice Cream Cones

While in Food Therapy last week, our therapist suggested we make Christmas tree ice cream cones as a sort of food play. Melody hates getting things on her fingers, so it will help with her playing with the icing. I made one too, and we will probably make more this week. They turned out cute, so I thought I would share.

Rainbow Sunshine

I am almost done writing all about our crafts from our time during quarantine. This one Melody seemed to really enjoy. It was a quick craft, but it still had enough detail involved that it kept her busy.

Best Dad Trophy

When I asked Melody what craft she wanted to make for Brad for his birthday, she asked to make him a trophy. While that would be a perfect thing for Brad to make using his 3D printer, my Silhouette was going to be tricky. I did come up with a design to make one from paper that would stand up, but it failed. But I did keep the trophy itself I made and it is now just a paper one. And Melody (and Brad) still loved it.

Silhouette Cameo Part Five

Since the pandemic started back in March, we have been busy keeping Melody entertained and keeping the family sane, so I have not used my Silhouette quite as much. But I did find time to use I for some gifts, shirts for a trip for a coworker of Brad’s, and masks. If you had told me in January I would be making monograms and names for masks, I would have thought you were crazy, but here we are!

DIY Telescope

One of the fun things Melody likes to do with her newish swing set is play with the telescope. She thinks it is so much fun to point it at us throughout the yard and find us. So we had the bright idea to let her make her own telescope using paper towel rolls.

My Dad Rocks

One of Brad’s presents for his birthday was a fun and very hard craft I had Melody make for him before she went back to school. I made the template on my computer, and as we worked on it, I had to keep adding space because she has such big hand writing. It was a really adorable craft though, and I think Brad loved it.

Button Caterpillar

During our intense craft times this summer, I found this craft for Melody to do. I did most of the work myself since Melody can’t use the hot glue gun, but she still had fun picking out all the buttons.
