Via Napoli Revisted
Back in May when we went to Disney World, we were able to snag a reservation for Via Napoli. I wasn’t entirely sure if we would keep it since my dad isn’t the biggest pizza fan, but we opted to go anyhow. Brad and I went back in February 2019, and we really loved it. So we thought it would be worth trying again. We were uncertain of how things would be since due to COVID, the International Program was on hold, but we still wanted to try it again.
Of course, due to COVID, they did not have paper menus and none of the staff was from Italy. The staff were just regular castmembers that you’d find elsewhere at Disney. I don’t really think this really took away from the experience here though. Our waitress was great and very attentive. The menu was different than when we visited before though. I am sure this was also due to COVID and just having a more limited menu to help with efficiency and such.
To start we ordered the bocconcini from the kids menu. Like our previous visit, it is basically just fried cheese sticks. Literally this visit it was what you would find on the menu at say, Arby’s, or something like it. It looks NOTHING like our first visit. I mean it was good, and I did enjoy eating them. But they were not anything like I expected based on our previous visit. The price was not bad though, and we got two orders for the table.
I also want to note that it appears they are no longer doing the complimentary bread and olive oil like we received on our first visit. I didn’t notice anyone around us getting it either.
For dinner, Brad and I got the individual serving of the Quattro Formaggi Pizza. I loved it. I love the thinness of the crust, yet the outside was super crispy. I also kept the marinara sauce from our cheese sticks to dip it in. The combination of all the cheese was perfect, and it is something I would definitely order again. We easily could split this pizza between the two of us too.
My parents ordered the pepperoni pizza. While I did not eat it due to my pork allergy, it looked delicious. The pepperonis were perfectly cooked, and my parents did enjoy it a lot.
Brad of course ordered the tiramisu for dessert. I decided to order the Bombolone from the kid’s menu. I noticed someone else order it, and it looked delicious. I did not expect to only get two little ones though. It was good, but I do not think it was worth the money. I mean it was basically small creme filled doughnuts topped with powdered sugar and raspberry sauce.
As before, the visit was really good, and we really enjoyed all of the food we ordered. Even with the COVID changes, our experience was great. I would definitely eat here again.
