Ice Cream Party Invitations
I wanted the invitations for Melody's first birthday to be super cute. The theme was ice cream, so I had to incorporate that for sure. I designed an ice cream cone using my Silhouette Cameo and used it throughout the party. I thought using it on the invitation would be perfect.
Now that I knew the ice cream cone needed to be used, I wanted to come up with a cute background that would allow the cone to stand out. I tried to find cardstock that would work. I initially wanted sprinkles as the background since it was an ice cream party, but I didn't have any luck finding that. So I opted for polka dots. I still couldn't find polka dot cardstock that was the right colors, so I opted to just make it myself. I used Word and did various colored circles throughout the page. I printed it using PowerPoint and just cut each page in half.
Now I had to figure out how to truly incorporate the ice cream cone and the words of the invitation. I wanted to use my Silhouette Cameo as much as possible, so I decided to cut the ice cream cone just like I did for the Ice Cream Banners. You can see how I assembled the ice cream cones there.
The actual invitation wording was going to be on a square piece of white cardstock. I found some cute fonts, added some simple graphics, used various colors, and came up with some cute wording. I printed each one with a border so that it stood out from the background, and I cut each one individually.
I used double sided tape to attach each wording portion to the background as well as the ice cream cone. I was sure to make sure each was proportionate and even. I printed a lot of samples on regular printer paper before deciding on the sizing of each thing.
I personally think the invitations turned out adorable and matched the theme of her birthday party perfectly!
